I’m Allyson Siwajian, and I am a professional writer, communicator, and compassion-based justice advocate.
On the West Coast of the U.S., I work as a freelance writer, penning articles for magazines and copywriting for multiple blog sites. For these roles, I combine my professional experience in journalism and creative writing to tell compelling stories with a researched, informative edge.
Beyond my work sphere, I volunteer in the nonprofit sector to further embrace my passions for promoting human rights, stopping social injustices, and motivating myself and others worldwide to better love one another.
Please feel free to view my favorite moments in my professional career, and feel free to browse my lists of published works below.
Talking Bridal Beauty with “Say Yes to the Dress” star Randy Fenoli:
I had the pleasure of a one-on-one interview with Randy Fenoli, TLC’s “Say Yes to the Dress” television star, dress designer, and Fashion Director of Kleinfeld Bridal NYC. Read the story online at Bridal Spectacular’s Las Vegas Wedding Blog: “My Fifteen Minutes with Randy Fenoli.”
Sipping Saké with Celebrity Blogger Perez Hilton:
In the middle of a hot summer Sunday, I found myself face-to-face with the king of celebrity blogging, Perez Hilton. Read my article “The Rumors Are True” about Perez Hilton’s involvement as a Brand Ambassador for TY KU Saké in The Tasting Panel magazine.
Ending Poverty, One Child at a Time, with Compassion International:
After years of sponsoring a Ugandan child through nonprofit organization Compassion International, I had the opportunity to travel to Colorado Springs, Colo. to work as an intern within the Global Project Office at Compassion International Headquarters. Read my story on Compassion’s blog to see what I learned through this experience: “Inverting the Triangle.”
Calling for Peace and Freedom with Invisible Children Founder Jason Russell:
During my college years, I led a student organization called Project 58: Illuminating Injustice. While we supported the Bungoma Children’s Home in Kenya as our main focus, our efforts also included many causes locally and internationally. This included our trip to San Francisco, Calif. to participate in Invisible Children’s The Rescue of Joseph Kony’s Child Soldiers event in April 2009. Read my article about “The Rescue” Experience in The Nevada Sagebrush newspaper.
Promoting Truth and Justice with DC Superheroes Robin and Flash:
Didn’t you know I’m a crime fighter? Well, okay, I don’t “fight” crime. I let these proficient guys do most of the work. But I do have roots as a such a fan of superheroes and fantasy flicks that I could easily be a professional nerd.
